Favorite Family Reunion Photos

So we had a wonderful time at the Evanson Family Reunion the first weekend in August. I didn't take a lot of pictures, and apparently by the selection posted here - I did a pretty lousy job of photographing any of the other 65 family members in attendance, but here are some of my favorite shots. So good to be near water and bike trails - and family members we would be happy seeing more often than these reunions come around...

One of my favorite photos - Sean will go just about anywhere in his inner tube - had fun in the pool and the lake.

Good time reconnecting with Uncle J.
(and Dyan, Chris & Melissa... just never got them in any photos!)

My other favorite photo. Addison LOVED being in the water and enjoyed this time on the sand just watching the waves roll over her tiny feet...

Sporting the off the shoulder look.

The Fishels let us borrow this hippo for the trip - Addie cruised all over the lake.

Does it get any sweeter?

Sean loved spending time at the beach -

Playing construction in the sand - working on his first sand castle or maybe a skyscraper...

"So big!"
Luckily no ones knows the midwest like my dad - so on the way home from Yankton, SD - we stopped in Davenport about 5 miles away from this John Deere Pavilion in Moline. Fun way to end the trip.

Here's hoping that turning 16 is a far way off...

So long for now!

Fun at the Splash Park

Well, I'm not doing a very good job getting my own pictures up, but my mom emailed me a few photos while they were watching the kids during my trip to Anaheim, CA. It looks like they kept them very well entertained! After a few days at my parents' house, they went up to Crown Point for a few days with Grandma & GrandPa and spent a lot of time at the pool. Our kids have probably never been so clean :) I'm surprised they were so happy to see us after such a fun time with their grandparents!

Girls' Weekend

I was able to get away for a much-needed girls' weekend - We came together from Cincinnati, Louisville, Indpls, West Lafayette & Chicago - and enjoyed uninterrupted conversation, all of the food on our plates, and a little break from the responsibilities of caring for our husbands and children. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for taking care of the kids!

It is on my list to provide some photo updates for the following events:

  • Addison's Dedication & 6 month stats
  • Trip to South Dakota
  • Stan's swearing in ceremony
  • Trips to the Arboretum
  • Mother's Day

Easter

Went to the Rotary Easter Egg Hunt - it was rained out, but you could still get a photo with the bunny, a few prizes and some donuts. The Easter bunny is actually a high school rotary exchange student from Germany. I bet she'll have some things to tell her friends back home.

She did a good job holding Addison :)

Doesn't Stan look really happy in this picture? He looks like someone who just found out he passed the Bar!!!!

I think Addison is looking very "Biblical" in this photo - in the true Easter spirit, she looks likes one of the women off to the tomb...

Later that day, Sean and Grandma made Easter eggs for the first time

Daily life

Sean is very good at "sharing" with his sister :)

You know you live in Chicago, when your son likes to play "traffic"

Brook came for a visit and showed Sean how to make cookies - but I am most grateful to Brook for teaching Sean how to blow his nose - unfortunately he had many opportunities to demonstrate his new skill this winter...
